GENERAL MAINTENANCE5-5.MAINTENANCE ACTION.The extent ofdirection and general support maintenance is governedby the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC), Appendix B.The MAC authorizes on-site test and replacement of theAC POWER indicator lamp, battery, power supply, fuseF1, status processor, PC boards in status processor,LATCH/ NON-LATCH toggle switch,RESYNC pushbutton switch, connector receptacle, andtamper alarm switch (TAS). The MAC also authorizeson-site inspection and replacement of the mode switch,battery, interconnecting wiring assembly in the statusprocessor, and the terminal board assembly. Periodictesting of the Control Unit is not scheduled because theJ-SIIDS is maintained in continuous operation.Section IV. REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF MAJOR COMPONENTS AND ASSEMBLIES5-6.REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONPROCEDURES.a.To remove AC POWER indicator lamp,unscrew the plastic lens from the front sideof the door. Grasp the lamp, press in,rotate to the left, and pull out.b.To install new AC POWER indicator lamp,insert it in socket, press in, and rotate to theright until it locks into place. Put plasticlens over lamp and screw in place.c.To remove battery, turn off switch S1 onpower supply. Disconnect and insulatewires from battery terminals. As battery isheavy, carefully lift and turn it to removefrom bottom of CU enclosure.d.To install a new battery, position it outsideCU enclosure. Carefully insert battery, endfirst, turn and lower into bottom of CUenclosure. Connect wires to batteryterminals. Turn on switch S1 on powersupply.e.To remove power supply, turn off switch S1on top of power supply. Pull main circuitbreaker to remove 120 vac from CU.Disconnect wires from battery.Carefully (battery is heavy) lift and turnbattery to remove it from bottom of CUenclosure. Tag and disconnect wires fromTB2 and TB4. Remove screws that securecover, and remove cover. Tag anddisconnect wires from TB1. Carefullyremove screws that secure power supply toside of CU enclosure. Be careful not todrop power supply inside CU. Note cableclamp under screw near TB4 (bottom front).Support power supply and turn it so wirescan be tagged and disconnected from TB3on the bottom of power supply. Removepower supply.f.To install new power supply, remove cover,and turn unit so TB3 is accessible. Supportpower supply and connect wires to TB3.Turn power supply upright and position itover standoffs on side of CU enclosure.Note that cable clamp goes under screw onbottom front of power supply. Insert screwsand tighten to secure power supply.Connect wires to TB1. Replace cover andsecure with screws. Connect wires to TB2and TB4. Position battery outside CUenclosure. Carefully insert battery end first,turn, and lower it into bottom of CUenclosure. Connect wires to batteryterminals. Switch on main circuit breaker.Turn on switch S1 on top of power supply.5-122
