Hold a screwdriver point across the open breaker points.

Remove the screwdriver from the breaker points.

If a bright blue spark jumps between the wire and the engine, the coil is ok. Go to Step 10.

If there is no spark, or the spark is weak and yellow, the coil is weak. Replace it and go to Step
9e, if the condenser and the points check ok.
