Inspect and check the continuity of the wires below. Use a volt-ohmmeter.
Battery cables.
The wire between the battery and the start button.
The wire between the start button and the ignition switch.
The wire between the ignition switch and the alternator.

Connect a meter lead to each end of the wire being tested.
(2)
Wiggle the wire.
(3)
If the wire conducts a current, go to Step 10.
(4)
If the wire does not conduct, replace it and go to Step 10.
(5)
If any of the wires or insulation are frayed, broken or cracked, replace them and go to Step 8.
