Check the fuse.
(1)
Unscrew the fuse holder and check the fuse.
(2)
If it is ok, screw the fuse holder back together and go to Step 8.
(3)
If the fuse is blown, replace it and screw the fuse holder back together. Go to Step 7g.

Start the engine.
(1)
If the engine starts, the problem is solved.
(2)
If the engine does not start, go to Step 8.
Step 8.
Check the spark plug wire.
a.
Remove the spark plug wire and test it with a volt-ohmmeter.
(1)
Attach a meter lead to each end of the spark plug wire.
(2)
If the meter reads below 40 k ohms (40,000) go to Step 9.
(3)
If the meter reads steadily above 40 k ohms, replace the wire and go to Step 8b.
