Inspection.
a.
Visually examine the buckles and straps for broken buckles, frayed, ripped or torn straps. If damaged, refer to
paragraph NO TAG to replace straps.
b.
Examine the vent tubing connections for tightness. Refer to paragraph 3-9. 2. 9.
c.
Inspect the battery box for corrosion. If damaged, replace the EBA.
d.
Check the breathing tube for cuts, holes, tears and connection thread damage. If damaged, refer to paragraph 3-
9. 2. 12 to replace the breathing tube.
e.
Examine the regulator valve for damage. If damaged, refer to paragraph 3-9. 2. 6 to replace the regulator.
f.
Examine the cylinder valve for damage and check the hydrostatic test date. If damaged or the hydrostatic test
date is over 5 years old, notify your supervisor and replace the cylinder. Refer to paragraph 3-9. 2. 3.
g.
Inspect the face piece for damage. Replace damaged components.
