The following procedure works only for a 45^o angle beam. a. Position the search unit at P-1 and then P-2 as shown in Figure 1-21. Obtain peak signals from R-1 and then from R-2. b. The angle beam metal travel at P-1 is 1.00 inch; at P-2, it is 2.00 inches. Use multiple back ref lections to calibrate longer distances.
