Inspect the filter element.
(1)
If the filter element is plugged, clean it with acetone (O-A-51F), replace it and go to Step 1c.
(2)
If the filter element is ok, go to Step 1c.

Inspect the gaskets.
(1)
If the gasket is cracked or broken, replace it and go to Step 1d.
(2)
If the gasket is ok, go to Step 1d.
d.
Reassemble the separator and start the engine. Check the pressure gage.
(1)
If the pressure is 90-100 psi, the problem is solved.
(2)
If the pressure is still greater than 100 psi, go to Step 2.
Step 2.
Check the engine speed. Use a hand-held tachometer.

Start the engine according to operating instructions in Chapter 2, Section III.
