Ensure the external battery temperature does not exceed 55 degrees C(130 degrees F).-Ensure batteries are protected from external short circuit.A8.19.1. Batteries must consist of cells secured within and fully enclosed by a metal casing. Ship unpackaged or innonspecification protective packagings. UN specification containers are not required.A8.19.2. Cells must consist of hermetically sealed metal casings that completely enclose the hazardous material.Pack cells with sufficient cushioning material to secure against movement; and to prevent contact between cells andbetween cells and the internal surfaces of the outer packaging.
