This method can detect near-skin-to-core unbonds and broken or corroded core. Unbonds will cause a complete loss of
the signal from the back of the core (Figure 5-71, View B). Broken or corroded core will reduce or completely
eliminate the signal from the back of the core and may produce an echo signal (Figure 5-71, View C).
