The ice vest is worn under the encapsulating protective suit with the rebreather system to providecooling capabilities to the operator. Water, cooled by frozen gel packs or ice, is circulated through the ice vest by an 8-volt battery powered centrifugal pump. The pump can be manually activated by an on/off switch and cooling can beadjusted to a comfortable level by manually operating a regulating valve that controls the flow of chilled water throughthe vest.
