Check and reset engine speed. Use a tachometer.
a. Start engine according to engine startup procedures in Chapter 2, Section III.
NOTE
Belts should be installed while checking engine speed.
b. Check operating speed with tachometer. Refer to page 1-6 for correct rpm settings.

c. Adjust engine speed as necessary.
(1) Loosen bushing nut slightly.
(2) Turn throttle bracket counterclockwise (left) to increase engine speed. Turn it
clockwise (right) to decrease engine speed. Refer to page 1-6 for the correct rating.
CAUTION
DO NOT FORCE bushing nut tight. This could cause binding or stripping
of threads.
(3) When engine speed is adjusted to the correct rpm, tighten bushing nut to lock
throttle bracket.
